James Coomber

Supporting Artist Agency for the TV & Film Industry - Specialising in Military, Police and Emergency Services

James Coomber is a highly experienced former UK law enforcement professional with over 26 years’ service across policing, specialist intelligence roles, and high‑risk operational environments. His background includes extensive work as a specialist firearms officer, senior intelligence lead, and detective, giving him a deep, authentic understanding of police procedure, investigative work, and tactical operations.

He has on‑screen experience as a Police extra, most notably appearing in the feature film Attack the Block, directed by Joe Cornish, where he portrayed a specialist firearms officer in the film’s final scene. His real‑world operational grounding enables him to bring accuracy, discipline, and natural authority to roles involving armed policing, detective work, tactical units, and command‑style characters.

Alongside his policing career, James served as an infantry soldier in the Army Reserve with 3rd Battalion, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (3 PWRR). His military training and field experience add further credibility for productions requiring soldiers, tactical teams, or military advisers. He is familiar with a range of weapons systems including the H&K G36, MP5, Glock 17, and the SA80 platform.

James combines professional credibility with reliability, adaptability, and a calm, authoritative presence — ideal for productions seeking authentic portrayals of UK policing, military personnel, or specialist tactical roles.
